We will be doing a geocaching activity on the grounds at Carpenter Hill Elementary. I hope by doing this activity students are introduced to an exciting activity that they can then do with their families. It is a great way to discover hidden places near or far in nature and in everyday surroundings.

This video sort of shows a group of friends geocaching. They do not put back the cache in the correct way, but still fun to watch.

I've created a survey to allow you a means of asking questions, offering to assist with the project or let me know your child will be bringing their own device (3rd-5th)

Student questions

FAQ:
Q: What size or types of geocaches will we be looking for? (from "D" in 5th grade)
A: Various sizes and types.

Q: What are the time slots to help?
A: I will be doing the activity every day next week from 8:00-8:50 for 4th grade and 8:55-9:45 for 5th grade. Come help as little or as much as you would like. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Q: Will our spots at school be on the Geocaching.com
A: No. you will have the coordinates only. Plus this would violate the Geocaching policy since we are a school.

Q: What if I do not have a device. Will I get to play the game?
A: You will be working in groups, so this will not be a problem.

Q: Which grade levels will be doing this activity?
A: 4th and 5th grades first. I hope to do it with the other grade levels later in the year.
